In product development, meeting or exceeding requirements drives the excitement of readiness. But is that
enough to face the threats of: supply quality, use conditions and environmental variations; and a multitude of
factors and its interactions?
This seminar presents a systemic risk-based approach to facilitate test planning and overall control (or defense)
strategy against high-risk escapes. Hear about case studies that wove together FMEA, requirements, and design
controls to achieve this.
Bio: Daniel Lee has enjoyed 15+ years in Product Development, New Product Introduction, and Manufacturing.
With core values in 'lean' and 'agile' (promoting incremental changes, constant adaptation and collaboration), he
has established several quality and reliability functions in the USA, NZ and Mexico.
To facilitate successful implementation of these functions, Daniel led several years of deployment and iterations of
a next-generation collaborative risk management process that unites issue and information management, FMEA,
and FRACAS. In 2013, he founded what is now known as SYMCOSYS to continue its evolution, and to also offer
software applications for organizations to build a risk-based thinking culture
without the impediments of classical FMEA. Daniel earned a BE degree from the University Of Auckland. He is a
senior consultant member of Ops A La Carte (a global
reliability service company); a Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE); an API-17N workgroup member; an officer for
the Dallas IEEE Section, EMBS and RS; and a volunteer of ASQ.
